Dear Sir or Madam,
Searching for academic institutions which provide Bachelor level programs in pop/jazz music and gathering information from former students of Codarts, I realised that the course of studies you offer meets my interest in a great degree.
I was raised in a music friendly environment with sounds of classical, jazz, blues and country music around the house. So music played a crucial role in my upbringing. Growing up, along with singing I have tried many musical instruments, but my experience with the guitar was “love at first sight”.
Graduating from high school, in my considerations as to the directions in life, I chose and was accepted by entrance examination, in the School of Mathematics at the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. However, I have never stopped performing and writing my music. Today I am more than certain that becoming a professional performer/songwriter is what I really want to do. Through your program, I strongly believe that I will be able to fulfill this ambition by developing my guitar and voice skills as well as becoming competent in producing and writing music.
The educational and artistic environment at Codarts seems to be a challenging meeting point of teachers and students with a variety of experiences. For this reason my aspiration is to become a part of Codarts society and interact with artists of different cultures. In addition the city of Rotterdam provides a scene in which one can test their progress in front of live audiences. I am sure that living in a city like this and studying music in your institution, will fulfill my future life expectations and career ambitions.
I believe I would make a good fit at Codarts and I hope you will give me the opportunity to prove it during an audition.
